Why So Many Fail & How You Can Succeed

by Leslie Fieger

Why do more people fail at online marketing than at traditional brick and mortar type businesses?

It is not because there are so many less-than-perfect opportunities touted online; and it is not because it is difficult to create a successful online business; and it is not because ‘they’ keep changing the rules.

Those are excuses people often use; but they are not reasons.

Let’s look closely at the real reasons...

1) The biggest reason is that many people who would never ever consider starting an offline business decide to try their hand at having an online business. So you have a whole bunch of non-business types trying to run a business with part-time effort, commitment and attention. As a general rule, offline business owners are more serious about their business than online biz-opp participants. It is for them, a career decision, not a passing fancy.

2) The second major reason is that the cost of starting an offline business is usually quite substantial and the cost of starting an online business can be cheaper than an evening out for dinner and a movie; so, many people do NOT take their online business seriously. Offline business owners have more invested; even a second mortgage on their home or a personal guarantee on a large bank loan. They can’t afford to quit. It is make or break time.

3) The next biggest reason for online failure is that people get caught up in the get rich quick hype of so many of the MLM companies or “guru” marketers; and then when they don’t get rich by month end, they lose interest and move on to the next great promises on the next jazzy sales page. Offline business owners are focused and stay focused for years, instead of days like online wannabe business owners. They know it takes time and effort to create success.

Examine those 3 main reasons why so many people fail at their online business efforts and you’ll see that it all comes down to a lack of commitment and a lack of persistence. In other words, since commitment and persistence come out of belief, they don’t actually believe in their ability to succeed. They have no faith in what they try. That’s just it, they give it a try; they don’t commit.

The other reasons, even the big ones like choosing the wrong opportunity, are small things in comparison to the lack of commitment, lack of focus and lack of staying power.

If you want to succeed at an online business opportunity, get serious about being in business and take your business seriously. Make a commitment and stay the course. Treat your business like a business, not like a visit to the candy store or a gambling casino.

You may not need to invest a lot of money in starting an online business, but you will need to invest yourself in it as much as you would in any offline business. If you are not prepared to do that, then you might as well resign yourself to failure.

There is a certain mindset that a person needs to have or acquire in order to create success. There is also a certain technology of success. I studied it for years. I finally got it one day, and in less than 365 days, was able to become a self-made millionaire who owned a multi-million dollar, multi-national company.

You can read about that mindset right here, right now and once you have read it and decide to apply it to your own life, you can begin to create your own success.
